Wholesale on this product is not a discount tier, it is a different unit of trade. Straight U profile is bought by the meter and shipped by the pallet; notched and pre-bent work is bought by the size and shipped by the carton. Mixing the two in one order is normal, but the pricing logic and the freight logic are not the same.
Meters, pieces and bundles
Straight profile: quoted per meter, bundled, and a pallet holds a large multiple of meters. The buyer compares on meters per pallet.
Notched or pre-bent: quoted per piece at a given length, because each piece is a cut and a notch. The buyer compares on pieces per carton, then converts to meters to see the real price.
A wholesale price list that mixes the two without saying which unit is being quoted is the most common source of a bad comparison.
Specification at a glance
The table is the shape of a wholesale range: a few sizes, two walls, one length convention.
| Item type | Unit | Packing |
|---|
| Straight U profile | Per meter | Bundle, pallet |
| Notched length | Per piece | Carton |
| Pre-bent angle | Per piece | Carton, nests poorly |
| Corner piece | Per piece | Carton, high count |
| Printed length | Per piece | Carton, plate charge once |
Volume, freight and the landed number
Paper profile is bulky and light, so freight is charged on volume and the loading plan matters as much as the price. Short pieces nest worse, so a carton of short notched pieces can cost more to ship per meter than a pallet of straight lengths.
This is why a wholesale buyer should ask for meters per pallet and pieces per carton for each item, not just a price. The landed comparison follows from those two numbers.
Stock, lead time and the resale range
Straight sizes can be produced to order quickly because the line runs continuously. Notched sizes need a slot at the notching station, so lead time follows the schedule.
A resale range works best with a narrow set of inner widths and one wall per duty. Too many sizes means slow stock turns, and slow turns cost more than the last percent of purchase price.

Straight profile per meter, notched and pre-bent per piece at the given length.
What is the minimum for notched work?
